Pay Rate: $18.29 per hour, TPT001
Hours of Work: Up to 70 hours bi-weekly, 11 hour shift (currently 10 am to 9 pm but subject to change)
Shift Information: Shifts will include evenings and weekends
Week 1: 3 days on, 4 days off; Week 2: 4 days on, 3 days off
Affiliation: Local 79 Unit B Part-Time
The Program Support Trainee will provide varied support to the Toronto Public Health Mass Immunization Clinics.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides customer service support to a diverse group of clients from different backgrounds and life experiences, as well as staff and the public
- Provides information, documents requests/findings for information and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests, consulting with the Clinical Coordinator or Clinical Lead Nurse Manager/Supervisor as appropriate
- Assists with monitoring lines and responds to clients who require information about the MIC
- Responds to clients in line who require a more in-depth assessment of eligibility to receive vaccine
- Assists with supply collection, inventory, sorting and distribution
- Assists with packing, loading, lifting, moving, delivering, setting up, maintaining and unpacking supplies, equipment, furniture acting as a runner as required
- Ensures cleanliness of site/equipment (e.g. cleaning chairs in between clients)
- Maintains confidentiality in accordance PHIPA and MFIPP
- Follows all Health & Safety policies and procedures, including infection control
Qualifications:
- Experience providing customer service and responding to inquiries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to set priorities and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deal with confidential information, handling of confidential health records and client personal health information.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work in a high pressure, high volume team oriented environment with minimal supervision, working independently and cooperatively with other members of the staff.
- Problem solving and decision making skills, with the ability to handle and resolve situations, utilizing knowledge of polices, practices and procedures.
