Currently, we have an opportunity available for an Associate Director of Procurement to join our team. This position is responsible for providing procurement leadership and ensuring procurement functional activities provide Linde with a sustainable competitive advantage and support organizational strategic goals.

This position reports directly to the president of the company and leads a team of procurement professionals responsible for the developing sourcing strategies, building solid relationships and strong customer/supplier knowledge of a variety of goods, services and products (re-sale products, healthcare, direct and indirect).

The Associate Director of Procurement will also lead process improvement strategies and drive change to implement best practices in relation to policies, processes, contract management, internal collaboration and operational efficiency.

This role interacts on a regular basis with the senior management team and partners closely with the Global Procurement and Materials Management (GPMM) team of Linde Canada Inc.

Principal Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement Linde Canada Procurement strategy and objectives
  • Collaborates with senior management to ensure decisions have a direct and long-term effect on business profitability and growth
  • Engages with field business units (Packaged Gases, Merchant & Onsite, Healthcare) and staff functions to gain support and alignment across the organization
  • Seek feedback from business focal points and incorporate it in the Linde Canada procurement strategy and plans.
  • Develop a high-performing team with the skills and capabilities to deliver on the long-term needs of the business
  • Build strong business relationships with critical strategic suppliers. Create and negotiate supply agreements consistent with Linde’s business interests
  • Define requirements for contract and supplier management processes. Partner with the GPMM team to implement contract and supplier management systems.
  • In partnership with the Finance organization assess and lead the process improvement recommendations/implementation of the Purchase to Pay process
  • Achieve annual productivity savings

Qualifications
Requirements:

  • 10+ years of Purchasing, Supply Chain experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance or related fields. Master’s Degree is an asset.
  • Proven strategic procurement leadership. 5+ years’ experience developing team members.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, problems solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel 15-20% as needed
